Our Story

Enid McAleenan is the Director of Education at the Burren College of Complementary Therapy.

Qualifying in holistic massage and aromatherapy in the year 2000, she has since earned supplementary qualifications in Naturopathic Nutrition, LaStone Therapy and Wellness Coaching.

Following her initial qualification Enid founded and managed a successful holistic centre in Dublin that offered a variety of treatments and helped showcase her client care.

In 2009 Enid studied at the Irish Institute of Training and Development where she gained her certification in training.

Using a holistic approach to training, Enid sees herself as more a facilitator in a student’s journey to their qualification in the holistic therapy professions.

The School

The Burren College of Complementary Therapy was founded to offer qualifications in holistic therapies that would take a complimentary approach to health and well being in conjunction with orthodox medicine.

Our tuition model is based on giving the pastoral qualities of care to the students that will then be passed to future clients.

Instruction at the college is learner-centred and focuses on true understanding through practice, experiential learning and where life experience is essential in making a therapist of excellence.

In 2007, the College moved to a more central location in the market town of Gort, Co. Galway and is easily accessible from Galway (N18), Limerick (18) and many surrounding towns.
