Aromatherapy shares a common early history with herbal medicine, of which it shares a part.

This history stretches back thousands of years into the prehistoric past and archives the ancient relationship between humans and plants.

The oldest written records of Aromatic Medicine dates back 5,500 BC, these ancient chronicles records the plants that they used, what they used them for and their methods of preparation and dosages.

This one-day course introduces you to the foundations of aromatherapy and its current status as a professional practice.

Appropriate roles and uses of aromatherapy as a complementary therapy in health care, and staying within your legal scope of practice when using essential oils.

Definitions and characteristics of essential oil and their connection to Herbal Medicine.

How essential oils enter the body and respond within the body Physically, Emotionally and Spiritually.

Methods of use, dilution, safety issues and contraindications and how to select a formulation of a blend.

In-depth profiles of 10 essential oils including:

        4. Eucalyptus
        5. Tea tree
        6. Marjoram
        7. Ginger

        11. Practical Formulation of blends

This one-day introduction course is ideal for persons who wish to use essential oils for home use, for massage therapists who are thinking of studying aromatherapy.  For anyone who is interested in the use of essential oils.  There are no pre-requisites.
